Sarpy County Sheriff's Department deputies and the Omaha Bomb Squad called to the Nebraska Crossing outlet mall in Gretna to investigate a suspicious device ended up detonating that device Wednesday morning.
Deputies said around midnight, someone inside a McDonald's restaurant told them there were drugs in a car in the parking lot. When they searched the vehicle deputies found drugs and what might have been a pipe bomb. A robot removed the device to a safe location where it was detonated three times to eliminate any threat.
One man has been arrested charged with possession of drugs. He won't face charges for the device because all the evidence was destroyed. The suspect's name has not yet been released.
