A Lincoln man pleaded guilty Friday to the charge of stealing a tortoise from the city's Children's Zoo last year.
Twenty-five-year-old Michael Sullivan pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft.
The tortoise named Captain Hook disappeared in March 2013. Zoo officials didn't report her stolen or missing because they thought she would turn up elsewhere at the zoo.
Earlier this month they received an anonymous tip that someone had stolen the tortoise and was keeping it as a pet. A woman told authorities Sullivan gave her daughter the tortoise as a present.
