If you looked up overnight you saw a fairly rare celestial occurrence.
It was the largest moon of 2013. known as a super moon.
The moon is the closest it ever gets to the earth; couple that with the full moon and it appears 12-percent larger than normal.
That cosmic coincidence is known as a “super moon.”
Super moons occur about once every year but the moon last night was closer than it has been in a while.
