Three Metropolitan Community College students took top honors at the sixth annual Student Truck Driving Championship recently hosted by Metro's Applied Technology Center.
The competition challenged more than 20 Nebraska and western Iowa community college truck driving students to demonstrate their driving and vehicle inspection skills.
Schools participating included Metropolitan Community College, Northeast Community College, Southeast Community College and Western Iowa Tech Community College.
In the driving category, first place was awarded to Metro student Trent Oloff, and second place went to fellow Metro student Lenny Peterson. Third place was awarded to Alberto Hurtado of Northeast Community College.
The inspection winner was Metro student Larry Jensen.
