More and more kids are heading back to school.
Students at some Catholic schools like Our Lady of Lourdes are getting to know their new classrooms and teachers.
Students and staff at the school also celebrated the Holy Day of Obligations during school.
They held a mass service with the church and said a special prayer for the start of the new school year.
Starting the new year, staff want to push kids to be their best.
“We always like to make high expectations for the beginning of the year, goals that we can reach throughout the year, and then every quarter we examine those goals and see how we're doing, so having right, and appropriate expectations is a good way to start the year,” says Principal William Kelly.
Like many other schools in the area, Lady of Lourdes started with only a half day of school.
