Iowa Student Injured When Pickup Collides With Train

Authorities say a student has been injured in a pickup collision with a train in western Iowa.

Atlantic radio station KJAN reports that the accident occurred just before 8 a.m. Thursday at a Canadian Northern crossing in Dunlap.

The Iowa State Patrol says Jason Hoffman, of Dunlap, was driving the truck when he failed to yield at the crossing. He was flown to an Omaha hospital.

The accident is being investigated.
