Stubborn Grass Fires

Stubborn grass fires rekindle.

About noon Monday Plattsmouth fire units were called back to the scene of Saturday’s grass/woodland fire -- As the winds picked up, the fire rekindled on the Platte River banks east of Buddy Lane. Firemen were told while en route that they would have to hike a ways to get to the flames because there was no vehicle access. They pumped water from the river and were on scene over two hours.

---Eagle and Alvo fire units went back to a rekindling on 176th Street and assisted units in Otoe County at a field fire along County Road B.
