The proposal to rename Pheasant Drive In Plattsmouth in memory of U.S. Army Sgt. Blaine E. Redding of Plattsmouth has been referred to the Streets and Alleys Committee of the Plattsmouth City Council .
Redding was killed while serving in Afghanistan in June.
The Cassgram reports the suggestion was first brought up during roundtable discussion on November 15th by Councilman Doug Derby. He said he had been contacted by a citizen who noted Papillion had named a street after one of its fallen soldiers and thought Plattsmouth might do the same.
The vote to refer to committee came at this week’s meeting.
