Store Owner Offers Reward In Stolen Bracelet Case

An expensive bracelet is stolen from an Omaha store, but the owner refuses to write it off as the cost of doing business. He's fighting back with a reward.

“Charm bracelets where you buy separate charms and put them together.” Periwinkles owner Bill Kirshenbaum puts together a charm bracelet piece by expensive piece, but one of these bracelets put on display disappeared and he has security camera video that shows a couple admiring the jewelry worth several hundred dollars.

“She has it in her right hand, transfers it to the left hand and drops it into her bag." Kirshenbaum says the video shows a pair of cool customers.

The night the bracelet was stolen there were three employees in the Village Pointe store near 168th and Dodge, plus the camera system. “We try really hard to maintain the store, so when something like this happens on any of our watch we feel really bad about it,” said employee Lisa Scheidies.

Kirshenbaum would like to know the identity of the couple seen with the bracelet just before it turned up missing. “We're just a family-owned business and we work hard and every time you lose something it affects our bottom line.”

He’s had expensive items go missing before without getting answers or justice, but he hopes video and a reward will make this time a charm. Anyone with information about who took the expensive bracelet is asked to call Periwinkles at 402-968-6648. If any tip leads to an arrest, Kirshenbaum will pay a reward of $500.
