Omaha police say a man may have celebrated his 21st birthday a few days early by embezzling $14,300 from his employer. Justin Colbert was arrested Saturday at the JCPenney store at Oak View Mall.
Police were called to the store to respond to a report of a disturbance about 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, a loss prevention associate told police that Colbert issued ten credits to his JCPenney credit card totaling $13,300. He also issued himself two $500 gift cards.
The associate says the theft happened between 7 a.m. February 3 and 11 p.m. February 4.
The report says Colbert made purchases with the gift cards. He was booked for theft by embezzlement.
