It's not the "second coming" but it is a breath-taking work of art.
Today is Holy Thursday. That's the day Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane and was betrayed by Judas.
Local artist Carl Weiss created a life-sized bronze statue of Jesus as he contemplates going to the cross.
The sculpture is called "Thy Will Be Done..."
Archbishop Emeritus Elden Curtis presided over the dedication of the statue outside of the Holy Family Shrine near Gretna.
Weiss says this is only the beginning.
"Over the next five years, we will be installing the Station of the Cross out here. It will be 28 minimum figures, full-sized in bronze."
Weiss says he's already finished the first station in clay.
