Nebraska State Patrol troopers spent the better part of Wednesday afternoon searching for two suspects who led them on a slow-speed chase and bailed out of a borrowed vehicle near 142nd & Cornhusker Road.
State Patrol investigators arrested the driver of the green pickup. The passenger escaped into a wooded area in a nearby industrial park...not far from where they ditched the vehicle.
Deputies and K9 units tried to box him in but he somehow escaped.
The driver has been identified as Justin Seffron, 30, of Omaha. Investigators tells WOWT 6 News that he tried to tell deputies that he wasn't the driver, but they found the keys to the pickup in his pocket and his wallet in the truck.
Initially it appeared the pickup was stolen, but investigators say it was actually loaned to Seffron from someone in Plattsmouth.
Seffron is due in court next week for a different case -- one related to guns and drugs.
Investigators say it's not clear why he didn't pull over for the initial traffic stop. They drove through the industrial park at speeds of 20-25mph -- apparently looking for a place to ditch the pickup.
