The Nebraska State Patrol says a shooting suspect from South Dakota killed himself after a police chased him into Nebraska.
NSP spokeswoman Deb Collins said the man was eventually stopped north of Macy Saturday night. He then fatally shot himself. His name was not released publicly.
Authorities in South Dakota say the man shot a woman about 7:30 p.m. Saturday along Interstate 29 north of North Sioux City, South Dakota. He fled north on I-29 and then turned back, racing into Iowa and eventually into Nebraska. He was heading south on U.S. Highway 75 until officers used stop sticks to puncture the pickup’s tires.
The shooting victim is expected to survive her wounds. Her name was not released either.
