A 15-year-old Omaha girl was hospitalized after being stabbed at Hitchcock Park Thursday afternoon.
Police said two girls had arranged to meet at the park at 42nd and Q streets to fight. While the two were fighting around 3 p.m. another large fight broke out nearby, involving juveniles that had arrived with a 12-year-old girl. During this fight, Carolina Gallegos was hit by a teenage boy and then stabbed by the 12-year-old.
Fifteen-year-old Brandon Diaz of Bellevue was hit during the fight and lost consciousness. Several male juveniles involved in the fight got into two different vehicles and left the area.
Gallegos and Diaz were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center to be treated for injuries not considered to be life threatening.
