It was a sea of green in downtown Omaha for the St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday morning.

The annual parade was organized by the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Crowds lined the streets from Harney to Howard Streets to take in the festivities. For Bob Ryan it's been a 15-year tradition. “It’s really a family event. My kids are here, my grandkids are here, its just a good festive party.”

There was something for everyone. Drill teams danced in the streets, fire engines rode by, and businesses found unique ways to grab the attention of the crowd.

“The best part had to be the toilet from the Barrett's Plumbing,” says Tracy Tangeman.

“Guys spinning in it and flushing it was a good one.”

She says it's her favorite parade in Omaha.

“We come her every year. The kids have a blast and we don't miss it whether its cold or not.”

Cindy Palmesano came with her family for the second year in a row.

“We thought it might be next weekend, but my husband saw that it was this weekend and we thought we better hurry down here.”

She says her daughters and niece enjoy all the free goodies.

“The candy is definitely a highlight, along with the stickers, and the beads.”

“They love the animals that go by and the music so they're just out here having a ball.”
