Are you the adventurous type? Do you stare down danger? Then Council Bluffs may have what you're looking for.
On March 23rd, starting at 8 p.m. and running until 2 a.m., the Squirrel Cage will be the site of a ghost hunt.
The Squirrel Cage is a one-of-a-kind revolving jail built in 1885. While the jail has been uninhabited since 1969, many of its caretakers have gotten the feeling that the jail’s past residents have hung around. Participants in the hunt at the Squirrel Cage can decide on their own if past claims of noises, lights, moving objects and even apparitions are real and truly proof that spirits reside at the jail.
Nationally known paranormal investigators, Paranormal Distraction, is hosting the ghost hunt. The cost to participate is $50 cash per person at the door the day of the hunt or in advance at the Squirrel Cage, located at 226 Pearl Street.
