Rock star Bruce Springsteen will be back campaigning for President Obama and will appear at a campaign event next Thursday in Ames, Iowa.
The Des Moines Register reports the Obama campaign did not give a location for the appearance. A campaign aide confirmed Springsteen would sing. The event will be free and open to the public. Ticket information will be released later.
The musician will first join former President Bill Clinton at a rally in Parma, Ohio that day. Springsteen campaigned for Obama in 2008, but these will be his first political appearances of the 2012 campaign.
Clinton and Springsteen's joint appearance in Ohio underscores the importance of the key swing state. Polls show Obama with a slight lead there over Mitt Romney, but the Republican presidential candidate is spending an increasing amount of time and resources in the state ahead of Election Day.
