Term limits will create an opening in Nebraska's 6th legislative district and Omaha native Justin Spooner is hoping to fill the seat. Spooner will hold an official kickoff event December 4 at the Jewish Community Center at 333. S. 132nd Street at 6:00 PM.
State Senator John Nelson has held the 6th legislative district seat since 2007 and can not run for another term.
Spooner says his priorities will be protecting funding and local control for education, providing property tax relief and economic development.
“What makes our state so strong and vibrant is that people feel deeply connected to their neighbors and those around them” Spooner said.
Spooner currently works as a Development Associate for the Jewish Federation of Omaha.
