The McCormick spice company is recalling 1,032 cases of ground oregano that was shipped to 41 states including Nebraska and Iowa.
The company says the product could be contaminated with salmonella. The Products were sold in 0.75 ounce bottles with an August 21 or August 22 “best buy” date. Customers who have the product should contact McCormick consumer affairs at 1-800-632-5847 for a refund or replacement.
The code to look for will either read “BEST BY AUG 21 16 H” and “AUG 22 16 H”. The UPC number on the bottle reads “0-523561-6”. The bottles were shipped April 4-August5 5 of this year, which makes it highly likely that they have been used.
The states to where the product was shipped were: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV. They were also shipped to Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Indonesia, Jamaica, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Thailand, and the Virgin Islands.
