75 mile an hour speed limit on the road again between Lincoln and the Platte river.
Starting today the recently completed six-lane segment of I-80, east of the Waverly Interchange, will be signed for 75 mph maximum speed, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Although there may be some contractor work continuing in places and possible temporary lane restriction for future finishing work, remaining work will be done with enough distance from the roadway shoulder to safely make the speed limit change at this time.
The Cassgram reports the newly widened eight mile segment from east of the Waverly Interchange to Greenwood will have some permanent seeding and lighting work to complete next year. Construction continues on widening I-80, to six lanes, west of the Waverly Interchange to North 56th Street in Lincoln. That work will be completed next fall.
