A man working inside an Omaha garage accidentally started a fire Saturday morning.
The garage at Gilmore and Washington sits next to railroad tracks beneath the Highway 75 bridge near the Sarpy County line. Quick action by the employee and firefighters kept a dangerous situation from getting worse.
"They were able to suppress the fire quickly so we didn't have that issue, but obviously with three cars in the building most likely filled with gas or some amount of gas in them, it is always a danger," said OFD Battalion Chief Mike Pritchard.
The cars were destroyed, the building sustained significant but repairable damage.
