Cinco de Mayo may not be until Monday, but people in South Omaha have been celebrating all weekend long.
The festivities are taking place near 25th and N. The carnival began on Friday and runs through 8 p.m. Sunday.
There are rides for the kids and adults can shop around or taste all types of food. There’s everything from Mexican, to corn dogs, and turkey legs.
For many it’s a chance to check out what South Omaha has to offer. "I don't get down here that much, so this is the time I see how everything is and have a good time and eat some good food and have fun,” said Tricia Pugsley.
Pugsley said she brought her two year old so he can also have a good time.
