Drivers hitting the road Tuesday morning encountered a snag in their commute as police closed the South Omaha bridge.

Reports indicate a man was standing on the edge of the bridge and threatening to jump. Authorities closed off traffic in both directions while police spoke with the man. As of 7:20 a.m., negotiations between that man and police were still ongoing.

Drivers are encouraged to use I-80 or I-480 as a detour to cross the Missouri River.
