A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening his parents.
The parents of 22-year-old Anthony Alexander called police just after 4:30 p.m. saying their son was intoxicated, arguing with them and had gone downstairs in the residence near North 40th Street and Fowler Avenue to get a gun.
The parents and their grandchildren barricaded themselves inside a bedroom and soon heard several gunshots fired outside the home.
Officers spotted Alexander walking at 38th Street and Ames Avenue. He ignored verbal commands, but tossed the gun away as he walked. When taken into custody he was found to have ammunition with him.
Alexander was booked for making terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, discharging a firearm in city limits, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of an unregistered firearm.
