The body of a Heartland hero killed while on duty in Afghanistan is back home.

19-year-old Pfc. Brandon Buttry of Shenandoah died on November 5th while serving in Kandahar Province.

Brandon’s body was greeted at the Shenandoah Memorial Airport Tuesday morning by his family, a military honor guard and the Patriot Guard Riders.

Buttry’s funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, November 15. It will be held at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah.

Visitation will be held at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14. Visitation will run from 6-8 p.m.

Buttry was deployed to Afghanistan in August.
