The Democratic National Convention continues in Charlotte and young Nebraska voters continue to use social media as their main outlet to stay informed.
"I already registered to vote and I'm just waiting until November to vote," said Gabriel Jolley, a University of Nebraska sophomore.
Jolley knows who he will vote for largely because of what he has learned about the presidential campaign through social media outlets.
Students say the outlets help them to get a more focused look at the election.
"I have the Associated Press app on my phone and the New York Times app, so I do keep up to date with all the information. It's really important right now," said Bridget Nelson, a University of Nebraska sophomore.
"I think it's working and that's how I get informed. I go on the Internet and that's where most of the stuff I see is on. I don't look at newspapers or anything like that," added Jolley
Students also said they they are more informed and better able to make good decisions because of the information on social media outlets.
"Without a doubt I think regardless of your views, there is enough information going around on social media sites that you get informed without having to try," said Michael Staley, a University of Nebraska freshman.
