Wet, slushy snow blanketed the Heartland earlier today, but totals remained light as expected.
The Weather Authority forecasted snowfall ranging from 1 to 3 inches, and snowfall tallies did indeed remain under three inches throughout eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
Saline County, southwest of Lincoln, received around 2" while locales near 120th and Center in Omaha had upwards to 1.8" of snow.
Much of this morning's snow has melted as temperatures climbed into the upper 30s and low 40s this afternoon, but now the winds are the big concern.
Expect strong northwest winds gusting to 20-30 mph at times tonight before tapering off after midnight.
