A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until midnight for much of eastern Nebraska, including Omaha.
With the current weather conditions, trash and recycling services for residents on Council Bluffs City waste services will be delayed; however, Deffenbaugh is still running as best as possible in Omaha.
Trash and recycling collection scheduled for Friday, February 22 in Council Bluffs will be delayed until Saturday, February 23. Placing trash and recycling on top of snow drifts is unacceptable and may lead to uncollected waste.
Officials ask that residents maintain a clear area around their trash and recycling containers, and ensure that they are not covered by snow and ice.
Trash limits still apply, and the waste collection schedule will resume as normal next week. For more information, contact the Council Bluffs Recycling Center at (712) 328-4985.
