After nearly two decades, Harrah's is closing the boat portion of the casino and opening a new one on land.
The games of chance are now right inside the door. Before, people had to walk quite a distance to get to the games.
Harrah's General Manager says it is a step forward in a competitive market. "I think this gives us a competitive advantage. One of the things that we're going to have here is convenience for our customers. And our customers...some of them are getting older and now they can get right out of their vehicle and take about 30 steps and they're right in the casino...so convenient for them and its right at our front door, its so convenient for them," said Bo Guidry, Harrah's General Manager.
The renovations are part of a Ten million dollar investment. The grand re-opening is set for Saturday, June 8th.
