A scaled-down version of a bond issue to renovate schools in the Springfield-Platteview district will go to voters in May.

In November, a $36 million bond was rejected by voters. Now, a bond worth $25 million will be put on the primary ballot this spring.

That money would create permanent walls and doors for open-format buildings around the district, but previous plans to build a new junior high gym and a fitness center have been scrapped.
