A vicious dog attack has brought anger and sadness to a southwest Omaha neighborhood. It left a small pet dead in its own yard while two strays remain on the loose.
Pet owner Karen Woster says, " I went in the house for one minute." That's when a 13 year old Pomeranian named Krissy on a line in her own yard is viciously attacked by two strays as her owner watches in horror. Karen says: I couldn't believe my eyes. Attacking my little Pomeranian there. My god it was just a nightmare."
Karen tried her best to save her best friend by trying to pull her back pull on the line. Karen says they pulled Krissy out of her harness.
An Eleven year old neighbor came running to run off the dogs.
Nicole Kotrous says, "I hit them and they ran all the way up there."
Though that worked little Krissy didn't survive the attack.
Nicole says, " Such a sweet dog she would never hurt anybody so it made me mad that they would do that to her in her own yard."
Little 12 pound Krissy was mauled in her owners front yard.
Her owner says, " I go between anger and sadness and why did it happen."
The Nebraska Humane Society searched the neighborhood but so far no luck finding the stray dogs that attacked the Pomeranian near 106th and M streets. A witness described one as a black long haired dog similar to a Labrador. The other gray and black and a little smaller.
