A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for eastern Johnson, northwestern Nemaha and southern Otoe counties in Nebraska until 3:15 p.m. Sunday. A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday for southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
A small fuel spill led to a few anxious moments for motorists in Council Bluffs Friday morning.
Despite sunny skies and above-freezing temperatures, the 24th Street overpass over Interstate 80 was the scene of several near-accidents.
Less than 10-gallons of diesel spilled on the roadway, so fire crews spread a drying agent.
There were no reported accidents or injuries because of the spill.
