Monday's flurries served as a reminder that measurable snow is just around the corner. Many seniors will be needing help shoveling their walks and driveways and the Eastern Nebraska Office On Aging is looking for volunteers.
ENOA offers two programs for seniors 60 years old and older to help clear snow.
One is a volunteer service and the other charges a fee.
"This program is there for those individuals, that want to remain in their own home, as long as possible and if they are unable physically to get out there to shovel that snow, we want to be able to help them, want to make sure they don't have anyone else that can help them first," said Chris Gillette.
ENOA is accepting volunteer applications. There is a screening and background check.
Anyone wanting more information is asked to call the ENOA, 402-444-6536.
