When Omaha police heard gunfire early Monday morning, they went to investigate. Thankfully they did not find a victim but they did arrest a man for firing a weapon.
Police say they found evidence of the gunfire in the area of 16th & Laird. Footprints led them to 20-year-old Brandon J. Woodruff. Police say he was in possession of a defaced loaded 9 mm handgun in his kitchen.
Woodruff was booked for possession of a defaced firearm.
