Deputies, Nebraska state troopers and the NSP helicopter responded to South Bend on Sunday afternoon after a shots fired incident was reported.
Law enforcement was told an individual exited a house and fired three shots and then ran from the area. It is not known what the shots were fired at.
The Cassgram reports the area was searched. The subject was not found, however a handgun that had recently been fired was located, confiscated and placed into evidence.
The residents at the house where the subject came out of were unable or unwilling to identify the person that fired the handgun, said reports.
The investigation is continuing.
