Shots Fired Call Prompts Lockdown For Three Schools

Three Bellevue Public Schools were placed in lockdown Tuesday while a shots fired call was investigated.

According to a spokesperson at Offutt Air Force Base, base police received a shots fired call late Tuesday morning in the Rising View housing area. While the call was being investigated, three schools were put into lockdown: Peter Sarpy, LeMay, and Fort Crook.

Investigators found firework remnants in the area that the call came in from. Still, they have decided to increase patrols on the base.

Tuesday was the first day for students at all three schools that were locked down. Belleve Public Schools spokeswoman Amanda Anderson told Channel 6 News students were not allowed outside for two hours. No one was hurt.

Anderson said a note will be sent him with students.
