Shoppers are in the holiday spirit in Iowa. Friday brought the start of the annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday.
Shoppers in Council Bluffs were taking advantage of the discounts, especially back-to-school shoppers.
Sheryl Garst said, “It's always a great opportunity to get what the kids are going to need during the school year. It’s good for them and it’s good for me."
"I mean, you save a few dollars,” Regina Grecl' Warner told us. “I mean, it’s nice. It’s a nice thing that they do"
It is important for shoppers to know that they can only buy items under $100 if they want to receive the tax-free discount.
The discount applies to select clothing and footwear. Click here for program details.
