Lincoln police managed to arrest two shoplifting suspects over the weekend. However, one of them failed to cooperate, forcing police to do some extra work to identify him.
Officers were called to the Gordmans Store at 5050 N. 27th Street. They found 18-year-old Samantha Correll hiding in the parking lot. The second suspect, 29-year-old Brandon Wishon was confronted in a nearby apartment complex. Police say he shoved an officer and ran before they were able to arrest him.
Officers say Wishon provided different names, so he was lodged into jail as “John Doe”.
Fingerprint analysis Monday morning confirmed his identity. He was arrested for assaulting a police officer, false reporting to an officer, theft, trespass, and failure to comply.
Correll was arrested for theft by shoplifting and obstructing a police officer.
