Two people have been injured after a shooting incident that started northeast of 14th and Superior.

Lincoln Police went to 68th and Havelock on a report of a car accident after the shooting in the 1600 block of Prairie Lane. Police requested medical assistance at the accident scene. According to reports, the shooting and the crash are related.

A neighbor who lives two houses away from the shooting heard the gunshots, saying he knows both the shooter and the victim.

The neighbor said he heard someone shout "Come on!" and heard 4-5 shots and screaming. He looked outside his window and saw the victim on his stomach in pain. The witness says he saw a black Monte Carlo drive off slowly about five minutes later. The witness hid inside his house with his family until police arrived. A police officer told the witness that the victim is in stable condition.

Michele Getzschman who also lives nearby said she heard the gunshots but thought they were fireworks until the victim's wife came banging on her door saying her husband had been shot.

"I saw the gunshot wound on his arm or shoulder area and his hand was bleeding and he was laying on his stomach, said Getzschman.

"He said his gut was hit and his leg. He was just yelling that he had been shot. I just stayed with him till the police came."

Another person was also shot, reports indicate it was the suspected shooter.
