A 27-year-old Omaha man shot Tuesday night drove himself to the hospital.
Twenty-seven-year-old Donald Hayes told police he was driving in the area of 47th and Burt around 10:40 p.m. when he heard several shots and felt something hit his hand. He then drove himself to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses called it a "rolling gun battle." “It started halfway down the street and I was sitting in the window and saw two cars just casually driving up the street and all you heard was pop, pop, pop, pop,” said Brandi, who didn’t want to give her last name. “I don't know, about 15-20 times."
Hayes told police he did not see the shooter and could not give a description of the suspect or the vehicle.
