Update: Charges Filed In Gretna Shooting Death

Bail has been denied for a Sarpy County man accused of murdering his father.

Steven Braesch, Jr. appeared in Sarpy County court for the first time Tuesday morning. He was formally charged with first degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

He is expected back in court on August 12.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Department has arrested and charged a Gretna man with first degree murder for the death of his father.

Sixty-nine-year-old William Braesch Jr. was shot at a home near South 234th Street & West Angus Road around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov tells Channel 6 News a family argument led to gunfire.

Besides first degree murder, Braesch's son, 40-year-old Steven Braesch was charged with use of a weapon to commit a felony.

An autopsy on William Braesch was set to be performed on Monday.
