Prosecutors won't retry a Lincoln man who was granted a new trial for attempted sexual assault of a teenager. The charge filed against Mohammed Nadeem after an August 2009 arrest has been dropped.
The Nebraska Court of Appeals last year vacated Nadeem's two convictions, ruling the jury should have been allowed to consider whether Nadeem was entrapped by police.
Nadeem was 22 when he was arrested. Police said he met a 14-year-old girl at the public library and gave her his phone number. Prosecutors said that and his other behavior at the library were substantial steps toward committing sexual assault.
