Sentencing for sexual assault. Victim 13 years old.
21-year-old Kyle W. Jordan of Plattsmouth had entered a guilty plea to first degree sexual assault of a 12 to 16 year old. Cass County District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier followed the plea agreement recommendation and sentenced Jordan to not less than one year and not more than one year, say court records.
The Cassgram reports Cass County Attorney Nathan Cox said another provision of the agreement was that the state would not file any additional charges against Jordan arising out of the facts of the case.
The charges were filed after the 13-year-old victim went to a Bellevue clinic for a pregnancy test. Jordan was incarcerated since his arrest in June and is now in the state’s Diagnostic and Evaluation Center.
Cox said the victim and her family were aware of the plea agreement and “this is how they wanted this case to be handled.”
Jordan’s name will now appear on the state sex offender registry.
