An Omaha man will spend 12 months and a day behind bars. That's Cesar Tlatenchi's sentence for failing to register as a sex offender.
After his release, Tlatenchi will begin a term of supervised release of 5 years.
In a plea deal back in 2005, the now 29-year-old pleaded guilty to violating probation, after originally being charged with sexual assault on a child.
He was supposed to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
In May 2013, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service became aware that Tlantenchi was living in Omaha, but had not registered with the State Patrol.
He was arrested in June.
