Police say a 27-year-old man has now been connected to seven sexual assault cases in the Omaha area.
Christopher Ennis is accused of two assaults in August 2012 as well as one from November and one that happened last week. Police say Ennis is also a suspect in three other cases dating back to 2009.
The most recent attack happened in a field just east of Highway 75 and Binney Street in Omaha, not far from the other incidents in which Ennis is accused.
He was charged Friday morning with two more sexual assaults. Bond set at $2 million for Ennis, already being held for a third rape when he allegedly attacked a woman near 24th and Maple a year ago. It was just after 3 a.m. on August 24, 2012 when a man grabbed a 38-year-old woman from behind, dragged her by the neck into an alley and raped her.
Another sexual assault occurred on August 27, 2012.
Both cases didn't offer many leads until another incident happened just after 2 a.m. on September 9, 2013 when a 37-year-old woman was walking home when a man grabbed her from behind and threw her in his car. She says he drove to a secluded, wooded area near 27th and Wirt where she was strangled, lost consciousness and raped.
"I thought he was going to kill me," she told WOWT 6 News on Tuesday. She came forward to share her story to help others. "I didn't want him to get away with it and I want other people to maybe stand up, too. If they see this they'll come forward, too."
While she did not get a good look at her attacker's face, she did see his car and two days later police also saw it. Ennis was in it and was arrested.
Swabs from rape kits of two of the victims matched Ennis' DNA.
