The Storm Predition Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 AM Wednesday for areas southwest of Omaha.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the watch area with large hail and damaging winds being the biggest threats. Heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning are also possible.
This is being triggered by a cold front moving across the state, hitting the very moist air and hot temperatures.
Even though Omaha is not in the watch, showers and a few thunderstorms are still possible.
Once the cold front moves though by 1 AM our chance of showers and storms go way down.
