Series Fans Ready To Roll

Day one of the College World Series in downtown Omaha Friday and every intersection around the stadium was prepared for foot traffic and wheel traffic.

Outside TD Ameritrade Park, fans were getting ready for the first pitch. “I like the vibe here, it's really, really fun. Everyone is pumped to watch the games,” said Ben Millikan, making his first visit to the series.

“It's crazy, it's awesome, it's overwhelming, said Cody Christiansen, also making his first trip to the CWS.

Across the street you'll find Omaha Police Officer Steve Podany and his crew focused on traffic enforcement. “We've made a few changes to help traffic flow a little bit better, pedestrian flow a little bit better.”

Podany was carefully guarding the crosswalks, controlling the lights with the click of his thumb. “Okay folks, go ahead, thank you very much for waiting.” He said the key to safety is very simple. “Just listen to us mostly, we'll get them across. Be patient and we'll get them across safely.”

And get there early, like fan Lynn Hoffart. “We usually don't have much trouble, we come early so we don't get in any trouble.”

Aside from patience, come with the expectation of paying for parking and don't leave valuables in your vehicle.
