Lori Jenkins is facing 10 years in federal prison. The mother of convicted killer Nikko Jenkins was sentenced during a hearing that lasted throughout the morning and into the early afternoon Tuesday.
Through evidence offered and testimony of two detectives, prosecutors tried to depict Lori Jenkins as knowing her son was about to commit crimes and that he committed murders she learned about yet did not fully cooperate with authorities.
Found guilty of buying shotgun shells for Nikko Jenkins, prosecutors wanted to enhance the penalty for Lori Jenkins to give her more time in federal prison.
Meanwhile the defense tried to show Jenkins as cooperating with investigators. Defense cross examination of detectives brought out that Lori Jenkins went to the sheriff’s office of her own accord to provide information on the Andrea Kruger homicide. This to show she didn’t deserve an enhanced Federal sentence for buying Nikko Jenkins shotgun ammo.
In the end she was sentenced to 10 years in prison on each of two counts but those sentences run concurrently. They’ll be served at the same time.
