Sentencing set in January for theft and drug possession convictions. 26-year-old Alexander J. Mejia accepted a plea agreement in Cass County District Court and pled guilty to two Class I Misdemeanors, theft by receiving and attempted possession of hydrocodone.
The Cassgram reports Deputy Cass County Attorney Richard Fedde said a woman reported her purse and camera were stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Twin Rivers Water Park this past summer. A credit card from the purse was then used for purchases.
A few days later, Plattsmouth Police stopped a vehicle in which Mejia was a passenger. A search warrant was obtained. The stolen camera was found. Police also found a baggie of hydrocodone pills.
Restitution is yet to be decided.
Mejia has not posted bond and remains in the Cass County Jail.
