Valerie Gonzales pleaded no contest last month to second-degree
murder in the death of 67-year-old Eugene Lewis.

Investigators said Lewis was stabbed several times with a screwdriver, which was found with his body at a used car lot in Hutchinson.

KAKE-TV reports prosecutors had asked for the 10-year sentence.

With the time she's already served, Gonzales will spend eight more years behind bars under the sentence imposed Friday by Reno County
District Judge Tim Chambers.
